A study by Admiral car insurance has revealed that the day on which drivers are more likely to have an accident than any other is 18 January. And, as the year progresses, be aware that Friday is the worst, or should that be best, day of the week for an accident.
It is thought by Admiral that 18 January is statistically the most likely due to poor weather conditions, a relatively short period of daylight and also drivers thinking about many other things, especially finances, as they drive. Many people get their credit card bills around this time and they will include the Christmas spending.
When it comes to the safest days Christmas Day and Boxing Day are right up there according to Admiral, alongside 29 February. Of course 29 February comes along only once every four years so it is going to have less accidents, whilst the Christmas period sees drivers taking extra care.
