Sainsburys Bank Say Be Honest Regarding Insurance

Published: 04/10/08

Sainsburys Bank insurance division is advising people to provide accurate information when taking out insurance cover because if it is found to be wrong it could invalidate any cover. The advice comes after over a million people admitted to giving wrong details knowingly.

As well as giving wrong details knowingly there are many people who simply guess at some information, though this can still invalidate any insurance cover says Sainsburys Bank, even though the information was provided with no intent to mislead.

It appears that the main reason for providing inaccurate information is a lack of time. This is what respondents to the Sainsburys Bank survey cited as most common, though a small number, around four percent, did admit that it was to get a cheaper insurance premium.
